Post Three

Arrived- Fairly uneventful trip - for us! After we arrived in Vancouver, we noticed another, earlier flight to Montreal had been delayed 7 hrs, and was due to take off just before ours. We headed off to the assigned gate to wait, but then about 1 hour before our scheduled boarding, were informed of a gate change....to the gate that the other flight had originally been at. They had finally decided to cancel that flight (this after a long delay), and the bulk of passengers were going to be forced to take the flight rescheduled to the next morning- however every remaining seat on our flight was subsequently filled. Whoever thought it would be a bright idea to put our flight out of the same gate should have been made to come deal with first the irate flyers who had waited all evening to then hear your flight is cancelled, you will have to taken 8:30 am rescheduled flight, and by the way, now the closest hotel is in Langley (easily a 1h drive) when it was now 10:45 PM. So, while the flight was full, I slept, and the photo shows the view as we headed for landing.

The drive was fine - a Nissan Altima, blue sky, 25C out. Had a good breakfast at Cora's Cafe in downtown Montreal and drove off. Then we hit the border. What was listed on the website as a current 10 min wait was in reality over 1.5 h. We blame the guy who was standing in front of cars so that anyone who went into duty free could reenter the traffic stream without further delay. We at least had a really pleasant US border guy - he skilled and cracked a couple of jokes!

Arrived at the GRC site about 10 min after the bus from Boston, so got in line, got our assignments and headed off to our respective rooms to enjoy a nap/shower and will be heading off to dinner afterwards.

Post Two

First try with the Blogsy iPad app...
Photo had to be uploaded from the iPad to Flickr...not sure I like that. My understanding was that I could grab them directly from the iPad photo library...it is there, but says it has to be uploaded first. Will keep looking at that one, as it could just be my settings that make it take so long.Second issue...photo has to be in landscape format right now...something else I have to do from the other site? It is oriented properly in the photo library....(update- yep, has to be rotated in Fliker first, otherwise will be in landscape only.)

Will have to figure out if it is better to put all the text in, then add photos or vice-versa - you'll see the results as it evolves...(but I now know how to update the posts!)

Post one

Starting this now to test out the process - will try and use while at the Gordon Research Conference to see how well it will work and post up pictures there as well. Can already tell there are a few customizations that I would like to make, but will get to them later.
